Pretty much been a tradie my whole life. Blue collar family, joined the Navy Seabees after high school, did some residential construction while earning my MBA and now own my own remodeling company ReIndustries). My top priority for Re:Industries Construction is to provide quality work at a reasonable rate and competing primarily on efficiency. I utilize different management tools and communicate very effectively. I have a daily workflow program that allows for quicker setup and breakdown, a kit system so that there's less running around and a prep process for cleaner jobs sites. We also have a system for keeping the basics stocked and materials ordered. We do remodels and renovations on existing structures only. We have no desire to get into new builds. Mostly residential but have done a few commercial jobs. We do use subs but typically only when a very specialized field is needed (i.e. plumbing, electrical, etc). Our estimates work pretty much like a bid where the amount we estimate is what we think the client should budget for. We work very hard to stay within that budget and are successful most of the time. And even when we've had an overage they've been negligible in terms of overall project percentage. If we come in under budget, that savings gets passed on to the client and they pay less than the estimate budgeted for. We believe doing this on top of quality work will give us a reputation for honesty, integrity and efficiency.
